Newborn Photography Session: a look at a full newborn gallery
Have you ever wondered what a full newborn gallery looks like? What kind of variety of images you can expect ? Well, it all depends on how the baby is on the day, every session is a bit different, but I thought it might be useful to share an example of a full gallery from a recent shoot.
If you book a full newborn session, we begin with family and/or sibling portraits. This time the parents preferred not to be photographed, but wanted pictures of their firstborn with his baby brother. Photographing a newborn and a 2 year old together can be a challenge, but on this occasion thing went smoothly. Just look at how cute they are together!
After family and/or sibling photos, I usually move on to individual newborn portraits with props. I have a variety of props designed specifically for newborn sessions, and years of training and experience in how to pose babies safely. This should always be the priority!
Parents love rich autumn tones (my favourite too) and also wanted some green elements. My choice of props for this shoot was a tiny bed, a wicker basket and a wooden bowl.
I usually complete my sessions with a beanbag workflow, however this can change if the baby is a deep sleep at the start of the shoot. I have a small beanbag for overhead shots and a posing table for the newborn classics like a bum-up pose, side lying pose or Huck Finn pose. We went with classic white and blue for this part of the shoot.
As you can see, this particular newborn shoot was full of colour, but don’t worry if that’s not your vibe - I always discuss clients’ preferences before the session, and we can go neutral or monochrome if you prefer. Simply enquire today to begin designing your bespoke newborn experience.
