Why you shouldn't be afraid of cloudy days for your photoshoot

Autumn child photography

Outdoor photography has always been my biggest love and passion, and autumn is just the perfect season for it. However, it’s not always easy being an outdoor photographer when you live in Yorkshire - weather can often spoil your plans and I find that people are reluctant to book an outdoor session thinking it’s not going to be any good if it’s not sunny outside. But overcast days are actually great for portrait photography, the light is beautifully diffused and you don’t have to worry about any harsh shadows. Even on dark, cloudy days a good photographer will be able to get great results, so don’t be afraid of late autumn and winter outdoor sessions, they can be magical!

Few weeks ago I went to Yorkshire Arboretum for a session with amazing little model Lena. It was a cold day and it started raining as soon as I got there. Luckily it stopped just as we were about to start the shoot but you could hardly call it a nice weather. But just look at the results, so beautiful!

P.S It started raining again just as we took the last photo ;)
